Our display contains over 300,000 lights on 13 acres and using 6 electrical meters.
Why do you have a tune to radio sign? We broadcast our music on FM 107.1.
Who does most of the work to put Christmas in Cotton Plant together?
Our Family and a few friends.
How many hours does it take for the display? July-October an average of 4-5 hours daily by two people. November an average of 4 to 8 hours daily by two to six people. We must start putting up the display in July to finish by Thanksgiving which is our opening weekend.
How long does it take to remove the display after Christmas? December 28-March
30 an average of 4 to 5 hours daily by one or two people.
How much wire does
it take to run the display? We have estimated the amount to be 2 to 5 miles.
you have corporate sponsors? No, the display is our family′s residential
display, done as a gift to our community and families who enjoy what we do.
Why do you have so many inflatables? What started out as a decoration for our
boys to name at the back of our house has grown into a hobby/collection. You
will see inflatables here that are retired, one of a kinds that were never
mass produced, one from Europe, one from Mexico, and others that were only
sold in large cities in the United States.
When do you start planning for the next year′s display? We usually start thinking about and working on new projects in January so it depends on what we add new whether we start working on projects from February-June.
What are donations used for? Electricity, Updating equipment, Replacing equipment, Light Controllers, Wire, Light bulbs, Receivers, Speakers, Projectors, Adding new items, Etc.(including supplies too numerous to mention), Workers-Between 5 and 10 workers during the hours we are open to the public.
